Subject: Re: How much is a 1991 9000 CS Carlsson worth in poor condition

It is definately a CS Carlsson on a J-plate could be a 91 or 92 Faults I spotted on the car... The car has ABS and TCS lights permently on and has done apparently for a number of years (the vendor admits he is unsure how it passed its MOT in this condiction) There is no indication of the ECU going through its check sequence, the lights come on and stay on. There is eveidence of overheating and head-gasket problems. A new water pump and head gasket have been recently fitted, but even after a short run the cooling system had become pressurised and was forcing coolant through the top of the header tank. There is no service history and the vendor does not claim to have had the car serviced or serviced it him self. The oil is filthy adn thick. It will need both new engine mounts replacing as the top mount has perished and there is gearbox movement between changes. It has 150K miles on the clock The car is well down on power, shows some boost on the guage, but not full. It significantly underperforms my current '88 9000T On the plus side.... The body work is quite tidy with no obvious repaired accident damage or rust, just a few stone chips, a surface scratch on the wing and a scuff on one of the colour-coded mirrors. The car had a new gearbox fitted 10K miles / 2yrs ago. Interior is tidy and all Carlsson badging etc in place The vendor is honest, the car is cheap and I am prepared to spend some money correcting the faults The vendor probably reads this group.
