It is not very likely that it is the Hall-sensor I you feel the car just looses power. For sure they break but the instances I have experienced it totally gave up instantly. Very distinct "missing" ignition intermittently I guess also i possible. But i think that if it starts missing you will be on the side of the road in minutes
