It looks like a plastic bottle :) and, from what I understand, is filled by the intake and provides air pressure to move the air vents when the control dial is operated. I don't know about newer model Saabs, but all my classics make a nice swooshing noise when the vent control dial is operated. I don't know why it makes the wheezing noise - presumably it is releasing excess pressure that builds up as the car is coming up to operating temperature. Rest assured, all the classics I have had do this - it's just another Saab quirk :) Hope this helps, Paul
