I have owned quite a number of cars with AC (including a 1975 Oldsmobile Cutlass that I bought for $200), and I have NEVER had the sort of problem that I now have with my Saab. Currently, my other car is a 1990 Mazda Miata. Everything on this car, including the AC, works extremely well. Frankly, my considered opinion is that Saabs have several serious quality problems (although I know this isn't a popular opinion in this news group). Perhaps the problems have now been fixed in the current models, as well they should in such an expensive car.
