Subject: oil pressure and water temp

I have a 95 Saab 900S and I've been experiencing some weird warning lights. When I start the car, everything is fine. After some driving around in the city, the oil pressure light starts coming on when I slow down to an idle or come to a stop. If I'm driving on the highway, there aren't any problems until I come to a stop again. Also, when I'm driving at highway speeds, my water temp always stays at the bottom of the gauge. When I drive in the city, it starts to get up to the middle of the gauge (at the same time the oil pressure light comes on. Do you think there is any correlation between the two? I was thinking I had a bad thermostat(water temp) and a bad head gasket(oil pressure). I'd love to know anybody's thoughts on these problems (and how much this is going to run me in the shop). Thanks for the help. Jason
