I had that and asked the garage to fix it when it was in for a service... They charge me £2.00 for a spring clip which was little more than 1cm long. £2.00 ($3.00) doesn't sound like much but considering the part was a simple spring clip which the local hardware shop wouldn't sell in packs of less than 10, and they cost about half that amount then I'd check a hardware shop out.
