Like I said, FWIW. > > > That's really not far from truth. At my house it IS the truth. I've just bought my third Saab, a '99 9-3 SE. I drove an '86 900 for six years and 170 thousand trouble-free miles before a drunken politician ran a red light on election night (he lost) and slammed into my driver's side door with a big Buick. Knocked the Saab completely off the street and into a building. My car was totalled, I didn't have a scratch. We replaced that Saab with a '92 9000. It gave us a solid decade of faithful service until May 16, when a woman talking on a cell phone ran a stop sign and T-boned it with a Chevy van. The Saab was bentnd the car was totalled, but the interior stayed intact and my wife was unhurt. That's twice a Saab gave its life to save one of us. I did check the one we just bought to make sure it didn't have a target painted on the side. My wife still won't take the shortcut to her office. But every morning we compete to see who gets to drive the three-year-old Saab. The loser has to settle for a 2001.5 Passat GLX (an Audi A4 in sheep's clothing.) Between the feeling of security, the comfort of the seats and the pure fun of driving a turbo, there's nothing like a Saab.
