I was looking at a '99 9-5 SE that had about 50000 mi on it. Thing smoked some on cold start-up. I was near a dealer, so asked his service dept and was told could be seals in turbo, turbo replacement about $1500 (US) if that was the cause. I had already test driven it, but walked away. What do you think? I think the guy still has it. Same dealer has a 9-5 Aero lease return, 2000 or 2001, about 8000 mi. He's asking $43000, I told him he's nuts! One Internet resource I cam across says invoice for a new 2001 is barely over $38k! tia Dave R SF Bay Area In article <oauL8.118256$cQ3.3576nopsamnsc01>, Hale <halenopsamam.mail.com> wrote: > M. wrote: > > >>>>Do you need to treat this turbo like the old ones where you needed to > > let the engine idle for a ferw seconds before you turn it off to let > > the turbo spin down???<<< > > > > Yes, if you want to avoid having to change the turbo and maybe engine after > > a few thousand miles if not sooner.
