Hi all. I recently bought a 97 900s convertible with 30,000 miles on it. I absolutely love the car. However, after owning it for exactly 100 days, the top stopped in mid-raise. I took it to the dealership I bought it from, who advised me that I need to replace the tonneau motor, at a cost of ~$1500. They advised me to call Saab, since this is the first Saab I've owned, and they might want to create a loyal customer by picking up the cost of the part(~$1200). The person with whom I spoke at Saab told me that since they did not make any money off me, they would not pay for any of the repair. This really surprised and disappointed me, but I understand that they are not legally responsible. The people at the dealership were nicer, but are also unwilling to pay for any of this repair. Does anyone know of a mechanic in the DC area who might have a used/rebuilt tonneau motor? Is there any way to fix this without dropping $1500? Thanks in advance for your help. John Murphy
