I agree that the brochure description is woefully inedequate, but that's to be expected from sales material. I laughed when I read about the 'ingenious system', because in my experience, such phrases translate as 'hideously expensive to fix', although it's been fine so far. Mybe I'm just too cynical! I notice that the new 9-3 has a system called 'Sentronic', but this appears to be similar to the Audi semi-auto (Tiptronic, is it called? or is that Porsche?).
