The one time it happened, I was two blocks from home. Knew instantly what the problem was, even though I'd never encountered it before. Quick pop of the hood hatch verified that, yes, the belt could be moved by hand. Drove it home that way (no water pump or alt, but it was only a couple of blocks of VERY rough running). Since then, every time I have a V4 apart, in goes a nylon or steel gear, instead of that bakelite-fiber-stuff. Speaking of - does anyone know of a good source for the nylon timing gears for the Saab (Taunus) V4? Dave Hinz
