I saw a post from a guy who had the timing > belt fail at 10,000 miles and trash the engine (and Saab paid for the > replacement). > As they should, a timing belt should not fail after 10,000 miles. 72,000 miles is however quite a different story. > What is so frustrating for my friend is that Saab has a great reputation for > high mileage cars. > Your friend should have bought a Saab with a Saab engine, not the crappy V6 which Saab only started fitting because you bloody yanks cant accept that a straight 4 engine is any good, you all go insisting on V's. Also your friend should have serviced his car properly, like had the timing belt changed at the correct intervals, as stated in the maintenance routine, instead of whinging that his car broke and expecting someone else to pay for something which occurred because of his failings. Typical bloody yanks, lawsuit, lawsuit, lawsuit. Do they have lessons in schools over there on how to sue people?
