Subject: Help - motor crashed on 94 V6

My friend has a 94 900S V6. He didn't know about the timing belt problem. Broke a clutch cable and took it to the dealer at 72K miles. Dealer fixed the clutch cable but doesn't mention the timing belt needing a change. Two weeks later the timing belt breaks crashing the motor. Oil pan is full of "chunks". After doing a little research we discover the timing belt on the V6 is a known problem. In the meantime, the dealer and SAAB both are saying "sorry" but not providing any help. We searched for a while and found a used motor with 100K miles for $3,000. I also discovered SAAB has a 6 year/80,000 mile warranty. He's under the mileage but 2 years past the expiration date. Has anyone been able to get SAAB to pay for the repair? Have there been any lawsuits? Or did the customers who had problems just have to eat it? wwtaylornopsamll.net wwtaylornopsamll.net
