But, the new 9-3 seems to me to be somewhere between the 9-5 > and the 900 Classic. Let me clarify: I haven't liked any of the NGs. The convertible is passable, but I can't really get excited about it. The station wagon is practical, but I can't justify spending so much more for a wagon when the Forrester has an impeccable rep and is probably (I'm guessing) several thousand dollars less. (I'm sure the Forrester isn't as cushy on the inside, but a cushy station wagon makes no sense to me anyway.) Plus, I'm pretty sure all the current models have On-Star, which creeps me out whether you disable it or not, so that's a big strike against the line in my book. I don't know whether I think the new 9-3 is better than the old 9-3 - to me they're both too boring and generic. I just wish Saab would grow a pair and go back to doing really innovative designs.
