I have always been a big classic 900 fan. Now I am in the market for an inexpensive early '90s European car and it's only natural that I'm looking for a good old Saab 900. However, I have never ever bought a car before nor am I very knowledgable about cars. People have been telling me the maintenance cost with Saab is high and it requires quite a bit of attention. Is that a myth or do I have take that into consideration? My girlfriend and I had a '92 Accord when we were in college(graduated last year) and besides the routine oil change, all the maintenance work we did was replacing the front brakes cuz it was making noises. In my current economic state, I cannot afford constant car maintenance cost... please help me with your opinion. I'm currently looking at classic 900 or VW Golf/GTI (MK II). Thank you.
