The interface to the car's interior data bus (I bus) is not available from any other manufacturer. You could use a generic CD changer that outputs RF. You tune you car radio to an unused station on FM and play it that way. The downside is you have a seperate controller for the CD changer. If you do go for the Saab unit. You can install it yourself, but you will need a Tech II to marry the CD changer to the car. This would require a trip to the dealer or an Indy. They may or may not charge you for this service. Installation on a 9-5 sedan is not to bad for a DIY. The station wagon is lot tougher because the LR interior panel has to removed and modified. Some of the 9-5s where shipped without the connector for the CD changer in the rear, but I believe it was late 00 or early 01 models, so you should be OK there.
