Subject: '01 9-3 Throttle Housing cont...

The throttle housing on my '01 9-3 SE 5spd (24k miles) was recently replaced. Everything seemed fine until I took the car onto the highway the afternoon following the repair. At 65 mph I heard a "poof" noise from the engine compartment and then entire engine failed; every warning light lit-up and every system failed (except the radio). I had to roll start the car 4 or 5 times in order to muscle my way thru traffic to the breakdown lane. Anyway, the dealer admits (honestly) that they forgot to firmly re-attach the engine's air intake; so the engine was drawing-in straight air! Does anyone know what the"worst-case" scenario or impact on the engine could be from this experience? Anything to examine or keep an eye on? Thanks. -- J.E.
