The "classic 900" used a GM steering rack even! A little bit sad in a way, but the only way a low-volume automaker like Saab can survive in todays environment. Also the reason a new 9-5 is cheaper today than a 9000 was 10 years ago. And 9000s were co-developed with Fiat-Lancia-Alfa Romeo.
