Subject: SAAB Safety?

Gentlemen: In May 2000, I picked up a 1997 SAAB 9000 Aero Black/Black, and have been impressed by the quality and performance of the vehicle. I should have bought an extended warrant, but hindsight is 20/20. I am planning on trading this car in when the lease expires in May 2003, and up until this point, I was looking at the 1999-2001 SAAB 9.5. Nevertheless, after examining some safety tests, I do not think that the car is entirely safe, certainly not what I would expect from a Swedish car amnufacturer. About 4 weeks ago my fiance will killed in a motor vehicle accident, she was driving a 1994 Toyota Corolla. I will always drive a safe car, but I do not know about the 1999-2001 models. Any "first hand" experiences with the 9.5 would be appreciated. Perhaps I will save and simply buy a new 'Linear"? http://www.hwysafety.org/vehicle_ratings/ratings.htm Check out the 1999-2001 9.5....not good, IMHO Cheers
