This weekend my battery died. When I went to start the car there was not enough charge to turn the engine over. I then tried jumper cables and seemed to have a good connection but there was still not enough charge to turn over the engine. So I replaced the battery and all is well. The alternator and charging system are in working order. Up until it died I had no indication of any degradation of battery power. Is this common failure mode for batteries? Ed.
