Subject: Re: 92 9000 turbo auto trans

I have a 94 9Kt with 205K miles showing. It is still on the original auto box. I think the trick is to change the fluid and filter every 12 months or 12K miles. It sounds expensive, but it is cheaper than a new box. "quadrun1" <quadrun1_DELETE-THIS_nopsamnline.net> wrote in message news:Ctde9.11696$rU2.371323nopsam4.srv.hcvlny.cv.net... Agreed. The first automatic transmission in my '88 9000T lasted only 75,000 miles. The second one lasted a bit longer (I was constantly flushing it out with Mobil 1 synthetic ATF), about 130,000 miles. Average lifespan on those things is about 100,000 miles. You might want to try a tranny flush with synthetic ATF first, it might run just a little bit longer. But 140,000 miles is definitely above average...
