ALSO, the reason for Saab and Volvo to "only" have 4 stars ::: is, that back in '99 when they were tested, 4 stars was maximum. :: the motoring articles I've read say that Laguna is the safest car :: ever tested so obviously I'm not the only one who doesn't understand :: the subtles involved here. :-) Honestly, what do journalists know? How much do they actually read the info they get!? Not much, I can tell you. Go to the EuroNCAP homepage and see for yourself! It clearly states that you CANNOT compare the cars (stars) across the different classes. Don't take MY word for that the Saab and the Volvo are the safest ever tested, take EuroNCAP's word for it! About the Merc - again! The car that today has 5 stars, is the exact SAME car that was testet 3 years ago!!! Only difference is that Merc put this optical and acustical alarm for not wearing seatbelts into the car! This game them 2 more points (33 in total). This was sufficient to achieve 5 stars. How's that for being serious!!!??? They didn't even make a new crash.... Cheers!
