Unfortunately, Tom Townsend's Major Service page is a bad link. I posted this to him and maybe it will show up again. Basically, he stated that he had serviced a number of C900s with different lubes in them. Mobil1 gear lube was 225kmi average life and rated second on his list and the AMSoil series 2000 20W50 was 'longer than that' as he has only had one transmission failure on that particular oil. The one failure he listed was an example with over stock horsepower IIRC. AMSoil consistently does better than any other oil in the 4 ball wear test which may be a factor here in preventing wear in C900 gearboxes. Tom also has recommended the same oil in 9000 gearboxes as well (only those WITH drain plugs!)
