Actually, the SRS system will not reset with any amount of power cycling. It can ONLY be reset at the dealer/shop with the proper computer. Been there. Do not power up the system (key on) with anything unplugged or disconnected. This will trigger a fault which the dealer will have to reset. I do not have an explanation with Davey's observance, but I have gone through 2 of these and it is the same each time - dealer trip to reset it.
