I have a 2000 9-5 SE and had a catastrophic battery failure just last month. I did not hear a pop but the end result was the same. The car was under warranty and Saab roadside assistance towed the car to my dealer even though another Saab dealer was closer to the place where the car died. How common are these catastrophic failures? Ed.
