Hello Geoff, "Geoff J" <hardtop110nopsamail.com> schrieb im Newsbeitrag news:4efd781d.0209250333.73e5aa05nopsaming.google.com... > Anyway back to the point - I'm thinking of buying a 1997 Saab 900 S > (2.0i) in black with 5 doors with 57,000 miles on the clock. I think instead of looking for a 900 it could be better to go for a 9-3 (available from 1998). They made some improvements to the 900 within the 9-3 and the 1998 cars should not be very more expensive than one from 1997. Nevertheless I am not very happy with my 2000 9-3 SE (now 58k km). Im am glad that the car is still under warranty but I had problems with the following things : ACC display (missing segments) ACC fan (was running always at topspeed rpm - could not control it - only by removing the fuse) Clutch (hydraulic cylinder was defect - i was not able to shift gears) All in all these were expensive repairs and parts thay I would not have paid by myself with a smile and I think this is should be not usual for such a young car. Here are some internet ressources to look at: http://www.thesaabsite.com/900new/900&94to98faqs.htm http://www.saabs.org (http://www.saabnet.co.uk/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi) http://www.saabnet.com Best regards, Michael Mann
