Hi, Most wiper systems have a powered track inside the motor whereby a pickup arm uses the power track to keep the wipers moving until they get to a break in the track - the wipers then stop in their home position. If for any reason the track/pickup has broken elsewhere or has become disconnected, the wipers stop anywhere. Check for loose wires and/or a fuse in the wiper system, I doubt if tracks/pickups are available as spares, except at a scrap yard.
