There's no reason why a new water pump should make it run hotter. My guess is that you have air in the system, because it wasn't bled (at all/enough) when refilled. The coolant bleed nipple is on the thermostat housing. Connect it up to a bit of hose, and put the other end into a bottle. Run the engine, and crack open the bleed nipple. Wait until no more bubbles come out, then close it off. Top up the coolant, and you're done. -- Grunff
