I bought a red '69 96 new on 5 Jan 69. It was Allentown PA. $2642. I drove it home in a snowstorm. Stock Pirelli tires. Came to a hill where the bus was backing down. guy directing traffic said no one could make it up that hill. I turned in to turn around but realized I didn't know how to get home otherwise and I knew it was a detour. The guys with the snowplow throwing sand out coming down from the top of the hill sure looked surprised as we crested the hill! Didn't even wince. I rebuilt the engine and refurbished it in 1981/82 at about 128k. Sold it in 1993 or 94 at 175k miles. Heard a couple months ago it was really rusted out by now and was bought by some freinds at RMSC in Denver for parts, etc. Had a second one (black) bought in about 86 or so. Drove that quite a bit too. I think it was an Arizona car. Graduated to 900 Turbos (classic) and I don't look back. But it was fun while it lasted. Sonetts were fun too. Charles.
