Low Pressure Turbo vs Full Pressure Turbo is determined by the presence of a BPC (Boost Pressure Control) valve. This is usually mounted on or near the radiator shroud, has three 1/4" diameter hoses connected to and near the turbo unit proper. If this is not present, you are looking at a LPT. Also, most FPTs have a boost gage on the dash. I have a '95 9kCS. It was a LPT. I bought the BPC valve and an ECU and now it is a FPT. Personal preference is for a 9k, but the 9^5 is pretty nice in wagon (estate) version.
