Thanks for that Keith,
I've had a brain-stem removal recently :)
I got a bit of misleading information over the dates of the engines. I *had*
thought that the B202 was the new engine for the 16V turbos which appeared
around 1988 in the UK, but actually 1985. As usual, we get things a bit
later than you guys in the US. Duh! B202=16V ... yes, I knew this - I just
got a bit confused.
That said, in my Haynes manual "Saab 99, 90 and 900 - 1979 to 1993" (our UK
equivalent of your Chiltons) at the end of the Servicing Specifications
section for the 1979-1984 99/90/900 model, a "Saab 900 900i 16V 1981- on"
(sic) is listed for a certain make of fuel filter. Perhaps a typo ... anyone
got any more information? What does the Chiltons say? Was there actually a
16V from 1981?
