... you got the A/C on?
The Saab I owned with A/C was a little older than yours, but had two
radiator fans - one of which only kicked in once the engine was warmed up
and the A/C was on. The automatic operation of the fan was fairly
intermittent - it would come on more when the engine was under load (duh!
warmer engine) and go off after idling for a while, but the come on again.
If it's a little more "growly" than that, although possibly in the wrong
place, the A/C compressor might be needing an oiling :)
I once had to turn back from a long distance trip when I got about 50 miles
into the journey and the car was making some odd noises. I'd turned on a
broken A/C system by accident when pulling the cig lighter out. My
compressor was shagged and made some really growly noises when accelerating
... none in neutral.
Boy did I feel a bit dumb once my wife figured out where the noise was
coming from :)
<me>F*ck F*ck F*ck ... the car's f*cked - it keeps starting and
stopping</me>
<wife>When I turn the aircon off ... erm, the noise goes away</wife>
<me>What? ... WTF? Ooooooof (Ren & Stimpy styleee) ::GRRRR:: {KICK}</me>
Just a thought,
