Over the weekend a 9-3 brochure arrived in the mail. It had an odd disclaimer pasted in various sections where the OnStar Emergency Response system (available on US models) were mentioned. The sticker that was added says: "The OnStar system in the 2003 Saab 9-3 sports sedan is installed but currently inoperable. All elements of the Safe & Sound package, Directions & Connections package, Luxury & Leisure package and the Personal Calling Feature are currently unavailable. This temporary condition is due to the pending completion of necessary technical updates to the OnStar system. As soon as the system can be made operational, owners will be contacted to make arrangements to have the vehicle's OnStar system enabled. Customers with questions regarding this matter should call 1(800) 955-9007 for more information." I thought OnStar had been working on the 9-5 for a couple of years already and wasn't aware that it couldn't yet be activated on the 9-3. I haven't bought a 9-3 yet, so I haven't called the toll free number. Is anyone else aware of the details associated with this issue and how long it might take to be resolved, if it hasn't been already? Walt Kienzle
