ALWAYS, the check engine light has been a sign that an oxygen sensor needs to be replaced. Currently, my other car is a 1990 Mazda MX-5 Miata, now with 125,000 miles on it. During the four and a half years that I have owned the Miata, I have had nothing like the problems that I have had with my Saab during the less than two years I have owned it. If you put various "Saab" terms into any of the Internet search engines, you will come up with information that I wish I had known about before I bought mine. It IS interesting, however, to see the reactions from some in this news group when any criticisms are directed at Saabs -- even though those criticisms are supported by the ratings of publications like Consumer Reports. Having just watched a TV program about the Vatican's reaction to Galileo's theory that the Earth went round the Sun, I can only suppose that, for some, Saabism is a kind of religion. I'm just grateful that no one can burn me at the stake (I hope!).
