Subject: New to Saab...Some questions

Hey all. Haven't lurked here much yet, but I have a few questions. I have a chance to buy a 1987 Saab 900 for what I consider to be a reasonable amount (under $800). It is supposed to be in great shape, but a good friend of mine tells me to stay away. His experiences are all from 70's and possibly early 80's stuff. The prone-to-breaking starter lockout, the rotting cylinder heads, the poor electrical systems, etc. My question is...Are those things all still a problem on a 1986 or 87 900? As far as I know, it is not a turbo, has reasonable miles (I think it has 136K), and was reportedly garaged for a while. Is it worth persuing or should I leave it alone? I have owned Volkswagens since 93 and am familiar with their repair and upkeep. I can live with a few quirks (what VW lover cant?). Thanks for any input. Looking forward to reading responses! <}}}><219
