I don't know of any reason why a V4 cap couldn't be used on a 2-stroke, I believe the only difference is that the V4 doesn't have the big red flag that says "Add oil when adding gas". What kind of problems are you seeing with the 2-stroke? What have you tried to correct the problems? Dave Hinz
