The seat bottom has a fabric loop in the middle, at the bottom of the seat back, and the back of the seat bottom. Black webbed fabric in my experience. That's holding the latch mechanism, and I doubt that you can or should pull hard enough to try to defeat it. Probably just tucked in between the back & bottom of the seat. Get out a flashlight, feel around, and you should get it. Dave Hinz
