The bulb is easy to replace, but hard to find in the US. I found that the standard small bulbs are too large. Wagner 17037 bulbs fit. Don't expect the switch to be as bright as the rest of the dashboard illumination. Also check to see that the contacts for the bulb are actually making contact. I replaced this bulb and the new one didn't work either until I bent some of the connectors. BTW, there is also an illuminated green dot above the cigar lighter that uses the same bulb.
