On some older models(I have a Saab 900SE 2.0t Conv) it is wise to let the car warm up for 5 mins or so before putting your foot down. I recently booted my car and damaged the turbo unit when I did this. I believe they need time to warm up/expand to perform well. This is advice I have been given from two Saab dealers. I cannot say whether or not this is the case for newer cars. Certainly I would expect the engine to be at a lesser risk than that of the Turbo unit. I have friends with various types of sports cars, (some turbo/some not) and they always say warm the car up before you put your foot down. -- Kind Regards, Andrew Walmsley Personal email account Mob: 07879 476800 "Gary Fritz" <fritzxxxnopsamrii.com> wrote in message news:Xns92DFE1C2DF2EDfritzfriicomnopsam17.128.4... > Zweef <barboernopsamemotorfiets.nl> wrote: > > A cold engine wears the least under a mild load, not too much, but no > > load at all is just as bad as full throttle at cold. > > I am a bad boy.
