Subject: Re: condensation

The boot (trunk) could be leaking whenever it rains, but only causing condensation in the cold weather. The heating matrix could also be leaking - both apply to my (old) 9000. It would be advisable to check the coolant level; mine was very low indeed. According to my brother, a mechanic, leaks can be extremely difficult to locate. This is certainly true in my experience; I've taken out a large portion of the trim from the trunk and left it out for months to try to discover the source of the leak, to no avail. I've also applied sealant to every conceivable point of leakage, also without success. My brother says that he and colleagues have tried drenching leaky cars with water from a hosepipe while someone sits inside trying to discover where the water enters; even this is usually unsuccessful and they often resort to drilling a hole where the water collects. It sounds drastic, but I intend to do it. Good luck, Jez "Four Weis" <mweinopsamcom> wrote in message news:3E012ABE.AAEDD564nopsamcom... > Condensation usually takes place inside a car only when there is a water > leak.
