Missing pixels on Saab Info displays are a common problem. It's usually caused by a poor connection between a flexible and a ridgid pc-board within the units. The fix is to increase the pressure between the boards with foam strips, or similar. I'm not familiar with the climate control displays, but I would think it's a similar issue. I'm assuming that you are out of warranty, because I'm quite certain that a dealer would just replace the displays with new ones. A single Saab Info Display, (S.I.D.) can easily run $700.00. Add in the climate control display, and I'd be suprised if you could get both for under $1000.00. Yeah, they may not make much on a new car, but they sure make up for it in parts. Anyways, take a look at the following site if you're inclined to repair it yourself. I own a 1995 900S that has just started to drop pixels in the SID; just haven't bothered to try the fix yet.
