Generally, the only reason to remove the barrel is if it's really screwed up, so you wouldn't want to reuse it. I suspect if you managed to repair your barrel, you could hold it in somehow with an overized screw or something. > Is fitting the retaining pin in a new barrel a difficult issue? With a new barrel, the pin just taps into place. Quite easy with the whole assembly on the bench. Obviously, you need a new pin. -- Grunff
