It makes no difference whatsoever whether you disconnect -ve then +ve or other way round - neither the battery nor the car's electronics would/could know the difference. There is a good argument for disconnecting the -ve first - but it's a safety argument, and has nothing to do with the electronics. If while disconnecting the -ve your spanner touches car bodywork, nothing happens. If the same happens while you're disconnecting the +ve, then if you've already disconnected the -ve, again, nothing happens. -- Grunff
