I needed to change my car (Saab 93 1999) battery because it would not hold a charge anymore. I took it out of the car (first mistake) and the next day purchased a new one (not easy to find one that fit, the big 850amps would not work and here in Montreal it would not have been a luxury). I plug the new battery and the alarm sound. Can't find my key, panic and unpluged it. Plug it back and the remote would stop the alarm. After multiple trick (key in ignition, three (on-off) toggle in driver door) still no success. I think my remotes are de-programmed. When I plug the battery, all the outside lights turns on, the horn blares (if the fuse is in), If I turn the ignition on, the wipers are going with no way to stop em, the central lock does not work, the SID is illuminated but with a blank screen. Called the dealer and told me I'll have to have it towed-in. I can't believe it. A simple battery change will cost me a fortune. I really liked my saab before this, now I'm not so sure. All the alarm features are hidden secrets. No bypass/disarm switch? is there? I tried removing all the fuse releated to TWICE, no success. No fuse labeled Alarm of course. Any inputs before I call a tow truck? I'm sure my friends will have a good laught at me for buying a Saab after this.
