First things is when it's light have a good look round for a pipe that's fallen off or become dislodged, and make sure the oil filler is on tight. The engine breathing gets very upset if there are air leaks, and it often affects tickover, but is not a big enough leak to have huge effect when it's running. Have a good root round. Also look to see if any of the pipes or clips are loose, maybe you have a split or collapsed air intake. It sounds like ignition is OK as the car runs.
