Salutations: In addition to the SAAB - I own a very interesting motorhome (hit the link below and look around for links to Fleet Service if you are interested in a very, very big front wheel drive application from the 70's).. This fact has long bored this NG to tears - however - I might have an answer for you.. Assuming UK (given the sound old pound symbol) - you should be looking up campers (caravans ?) in the yellow pages (commercial phone book ?).. Most campers and motorhomes put at least one serious hole in the awnings or pop-ups (if you have a pop-up) every season and there is a thriving and reliable trade here fixing them up.. Literally invisibly at most places... It's very common and provides a lot of work for the boat/sail people (perhaps another line) come winter.. It's a craft thing and should not be like some iron on patches for the elbows on my old Harris of course - but if someone was fixing these for motorhomes around here for even $1,000 Canadian (like what - a zillion pounds after conversion) they would be laughed out of the biz.. All you want to do is ask for some references and phone around.. The camper crowd will generally not only be willing to give you a straight answer - you will be hard pressed to avoid a solid invite for drinks and a tour of their pride joy.. Be nice even it does look like monkeys live in it - you come to love these big machines like you would a pet elephant after you sleep them a couple of times..
