Subject: Re: Lifes a drip... but where?

Salutations: Well - it depends on how badly it's leaking - if it is.. I get quite a solid whiff of the stuff when I start up these days - I park it outside too - I'm putting it down to needing a tune up and possible issues with the cold start injector.. I had the fuel pump replaced in a failed effort to stop a turbo sputter that turned out to be oil leaking into the distributor cap grounding out #4 piston - which the APC sensor read as a fuel prob - which then cut the fuel under boost.. So what the hell do I know - did I again forget to do up my fly this morning?.. :) .. Personally - I always try to track down or figure out fuel problems fast because you never know if it is something life threating.. It could also be that the return line has rotted out and you are spilling fuel on hot brake or exaust parts.. If you can get it into indoor parking somewhere for a weekend - it might be worth pulling into a distant corner and checking around to see if any of the rust proofing is washing away near a fuel system part.. Good - luck - please post back and let me know how it turns out if you go any deeper.. Together we - can - actually get our darlings through another Canadian winter if we are willing to share..
