We had to call saab 800 number to get the bracket for the tether, they'll send it to you for free. The only problem we had with rear-facing position was that seat didn't quite sit right - we had to use towels to make it tight and stable. There was no problem with front seats butting up against it. (We have it in the middle). But then we aren't very tall. maria
