In article <BA3BD691.2857%pjghnopsamyonder.co.uk>, pjghnopsamyonder.co.uk spouted forth into alt.autos.saab... > You could try crashing your Skoda, or her car (whatever it is) in the snow > and then say that it wouldn't have happened in a Saab and now you'll have to > buy one. I couldn't do that to my Skoda, how dare you :) Actually they are another car that drive well in ice and snow, especially the rear engined ones, unfortunatley mine is front engined FWD, so not quite so good. Her Corsa is still at the garage waiting repair from when she was T- boned at junction while turning on a filter. Would you believe it looks like her insurance is goign to approve repair. They have already approved £1050 on repairs to the boot floor and a replacement bumper after she got rear ended (still waiting for the injury compen to be sorted). Now they are going to (by the looks of it) approve what looks like replacement of the whole side of the car (passenger), inner wheel arch, Wheel arch plastics, at least one alloy wheel, possibly a replacement wheel hub (rear), and maybe a straignehing of the roof, because it looks like the tailgate got lifted in the impact, will need jigging at least. And they are going to do all this on a car with a trade in value of about £1800, an R reg Corsa 1.2, even before the other party has admitted liability. > Did you get the snow last night over your side of the Pennines? It must be feeling in it's element :) Just a very sharp thick frost that has taken most of the day to thaw, because I haven't needed the car today. I used to love the old estelle on the snow, Rear engined, rear drive, didn't spin unless you hit slick ice or slush, and on snow, nice drifty oversteer was great to control. -- Carl Robson http://www.bouncing-czechs.com
