Yes it was in 2nd -- I didn't get a chance to get out on a highway to test it. But since the vast majority of my driving is in town, the behavior in 4th gear, while relevant, doesn't address the problem I'm seeing. It doesn't help me much if the turbo responds instantly at 60mph if I'm suffering through the behavior at <50mph 90% of the times I'm in the car. > Anyway to check your point, I floored in 3rd gear at 60mph and the > boost gauge jumped to the red part in about 0.2 sec not much more than > that. The car reacted accordingly. Boy, I wish. I will check it when I can, but I'll be surprised if mine responds that fast even at 60mph. I remember it being about the same as at lower speeds. BTW I noticed something that surprised me, but maybe it's normal. The turbo boost gauge has white, yellow, and red areas. When you turn on the key but don't start the engine, the "rest" position for the gauge is at the line between white and yellow. However, when the engine is running, the normal position is at the left side of the white. I have to be accelerating fairly quickly before I even push it into the yellow, and I have to really be flooring it to get it into the red. Is the needle supposed to be all the way to the left edge of the white unless you're accelerating hard? Also, even though the gauge takes 1.3+sec to get into the red, it drops almost instantly -- more like the 0.2sec you see -- back to the bottom as soon as I let off the gas. Which means I'm always starting from the bottom again after every shift. Gary
